Thirsk Kids provides activities for children from babies through to teens, where the youth group takes over. During term time Little Ark provides babies and toddlers with activities and friendship with their parents or carers.
For children of school age there is the opportunity to participate in their own groups, and in services during each month.
Activities take place in church, the local primary schools and community regularly for an expanding variety of children and family orientated events throughout the year to appeal to many tastes as we have fun and learn about Jesus and Christianity.

Welcome Services
Welcome Services are more informal than our regular Sunday morning worship, and are great for children and families.
Welcome Services are the 2nd Sunday of each month at St Mary's.

Little Ark is a parent/carer and toddler group for children from birth to school age. We meet every Tuesday morning, during term time from 9.30am to 11.00am at St Mary’s Church in Kirkgate. There is plenty to do from toys, arts and crafts, stories and songs.
All parents/carers are treated to a mug of freshly made tea or coffee and a biscuit and for the children, juice and a biscuit is provided for them too. There is no charge for the club but a donation of £1 per family (to cover the cost of refreshments and materials) is much appreciated. New families are always very welcome – do come and join us, or contact is with any questions.
Open the Book
Children love stories- especially when they are interactive, engaging and fun! That’s what Open-the-Book is all about. A team of about 4 or 5 storytellers tell Bible stories. We use drama, props and simple costumes.
Thirsk Parishes is forming a team and looking for people of any age to join. If you could spare a few minutes once a month with the team tell a bible story to children at our parish schools OR you would like to help in other ways; making props etc. contact Jill on 01845 501174 or jillgillanders@btinternet.com
