Thy Kingdom Come - 21st - 31st May

We are joining with churches globally to commit to pray as part of this year’s 'Thy Kingdom Come’.

This global prayer movement started in 2016 as a request from both Archbishops for Christians to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit between Ascension and Pentecost. We are charged to pray specifically for people who don't yet know Jesus, that the Holy Spirit will fill them and reveal who Jesus is to them.

Could you commit to pray, every day, for 5 people you know who don't yet know Christ? There is also a focus this year on ‘prayer and care’. Alongside your prayers, could you think of a gift, random act of kindness, something you could do to demonstrate Jesus’ love surprisingly and practically?  Thy Kingdom Come is taking place this year from Thursday 21st (Ascension day) to Pentecost Sunday, 31st May. If you’d like to find out more details, see Add your light to the interactive map, and shine your light in prayer for those around you! Thy Kingdom Come for kids...

Have you got kids who you’d like to encourage in their praying? There is a great prayer adventure map that you can download from the website! Last year we managed to give most kids in Thirsk and Sowerby a copy through schools, this year you can download it for free. There is a great app that goes alongside it too, bringing the activities to life and with games for kids to play. The app is available to download onto your phone from the app store.

Happy praying!
